Forest Cottage provides the base for all North Halifax Youth Workers and offers a range of opportunities and services for young people including Afternoon Drop-in provision over four days, Young Parents' Group, evening provision for young people including detached youth workers, girls' group work, accreditation work, access for young people to confidential information, advice and guidance including C-card. The centre also hosts a variety of specific youth provision including Calderdale Drugs Co-ordinator and Calderdale Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator. Forest Cottage provides access for local community groups and has conference and meeting room facilities available for hire.
We are open on a Tuesday evening, 6.45 to 9.15 for young people aged between 13-19 (Open Access including Rock School)
Thursday from 5.30 - 8.30 for young people aged between 13-19 (Girls Group)
Friday from 3.30-6.30 for young people aged between 13-19 (Youth call) and from 6.45-9.45 aged from 13-19 9open Access)
Saturday from 5.45-8.15 aged from 13-19 9open Access)

Description:
Identity (formerly GALYIC) is a group aimed at young people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or are questioning their sexual/gender identity. The group meet on Thursdays between 5.30 pm and 8.30 pm. Please email or telephone Kellie or Mal to arrange a meeting point.
Identity offer a safe space to meet and connect with other LGBTQ young people, helping to build confidence and self esteem. Activities include sports, computer and board games, bi-monthly trips, residential weekend breaks and life skills development. Access is also provided to information, advice and other resources.

Luddenden Young People's Centre is a purpose-built unit with excellent facilities including a cyber café, games room, chill out room, dance / sports hall and tuck shop / coffee bar. The centre is run by experienced and qualified staff, who are welcoming, supportive and friendly. We offer a range of activities including sports, games, music, cooking, art and cycle maintenance. We also run projects including music, identity, safety, awareness and group work (sexual health, teenage pregnancy, mental health etc) throughout the year.
On a Saturday, we have a Rock School for all young musicians, and have a FREE rehearsal space and rooms which bands can book.
We can provide sexual health advice including C Cards, pregnancy and Chlamydia testing.

Mixenden Outdoor Centre is situated at the top of Mixenden, Clough Lane, which gives it immediate access to open moorland, 2 playing pitches and a medium sized reservoir.
The centre offers:
Canoeing
Kayaking
Raft building
Mountain biking
Climbing
Orienteering
Team building
Archery
And occasionally with special arrangements, caving and gorge scrambling.
These activities can be achieved at three levels:
* Have a go - first-time experiences.
* Skill-based training - gain accreditation in an activity;
* Purpose - put your skills to a purpose to go on a trip or journey using your skills.
As well as gaining qualifications in your particular activity, the centre also offers Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
The centre is open all year round and we take bookings subject to availability.
There is also a motorcycle unit at mixenden Activity Centre which is available Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 12.30pm - 5.00pm and 9.00am unitl 5.00pm on Thursdays and Fridays. Maximum of 4 participants and subject to availability.

Mixenden Youth Club is a safe and well equipped youth club that has interesting, healthy and fun things to do. Visitor and new members are always welcome.
