Trust your instincts

The new Act which came into force on 31 July 2015 consolidates and updates the existing criminal legislation on human trafficking, slavery, forced labour, cannabis farming, organ harvesting, forced begging and domestic servitude and increases the maximum custodial sentence, for the most serious offences, from fourteen years to life.

It should also be noted that Modern Slavery is now listed as a new category of abuse within the Care Act - 2014.
