Pay by Direct Debit

It is easy to pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit. It also means that your payments are always made and you do not need to worry about missing a payment.

You can pay your Council Tax using your Debit or Credit card by the Internet Payment facilities.

Note: There is a surcharge for using Credit cards up to and including 14th January 2018. There are no surcharges from 15th January 2018.

Register for electronic billing

E-billing is the best way to receive your Council Tax bill. Once registered, instead of issuing you with a paper bill through the post, it will come by e-mail.

You can make Credit or Debit card payments by using our touchtone phone service.

Other ways to pay your Council Tax

In person at our Customer First offices, Payzone stores and at any local Post Office

At the time of payment, please present your Calderdale Council bar-coded Council Tax bill to the cashier. They will process your payment and return your bill to you, together with a receipt for payment.

The amounts to be paid each month will be shown on your bill.

By post

By crossed cheque or postal / money order. Please make these payable to 'Calderdale MBC' and crossed 'a/c payee only'. Then post to:

Council Tax, Finance Cashiers, Calderdale Council, PO Box 51, Halifax. HX1 1TP.

Please write the Name(s), Address(es) and Council Tax Reference(s) your payment relates. This should be done on the back of the cheque or postal / money order.

Note: Do not send cash through the post.
