Balance, billing and payments
You can now register to check your Council Tax account online. Your account will allow you to view your current Council Tax bill, your balance and any payments that have been made. You can register or login to your account by visiting:
Pay by Direct Debit
The best and easiest way to pay your Council Tax is by Direct Debit, this means that your payments are always made and you don't need to worry about missing a payment.
Make an immediate payment
You can pay your Council Tax using your Debit or Credit Card by the Internet Payment facilities. Please note that if you choose to pay by Credit Card, a surcharge will be made to cover administration costs.
Register for electronic billing
E-Billing is the best way to receive your Council Tax bill. Once registered, instead of issuing you with a traditional paper bill and sending it through the post, your bill will be sent electronically to your e-mail address.
You can make credit (surcharge payable) or debit card payments automatically by using our touch tone telephone service. This service can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to use this service please call 0161 627 9915 at any time.
Other ways to pay your Council Tax
In person at our Customer First offices and at any local Post Office
At the time of payment, please present your Calderdale Council bar-coded Council Tax bill to the cashier. They will process your payment and return your bill to you, together with a receipt for payment.
The amounts to be paid each month will be shown on your bill.
By crossed cheque or postal / money order made payable to Calderdale MBC and crossed a/c payee only and posted to Council Tax:

Please be sure to write the Name(s), Address(es) and Council Tax Reference(s) that your payment relates to on the reverse side of the cheque or postal / money order.
Please do not send cash through the post.
Please contact your bank to arrange a standing order. Payment should be made to:
Natwest Bank PLC, account to be credited: Calderdale MBC Head Office Collection,
sort code 62-21-45, account no 00000000 (please fill with zero's).
Please make sure that your account reference number (please omit the spaces), amounts and due dates (as shown on the front of your bill) are also given.
