Annual membership is £3.00. Membership is open to all who wish to support our work there. The cemetery may be visited whether a member or not.
Committee meetings are held once a month. The cemetery is now open regularly on a Sunday (weather permitting) from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, when the Friends of the Cemetery are working during site maintenance sessions. Visitors and volunteers are welcome. If you wish to confirm that a Sunday site maintenance session will be going ahead before you visit please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01422 260177. Please contact to arrange visits at other times.
We are a small voluntary group concerned with ensuring that Victorian cemetery is protected and remains reasonably maintained. We are concerned to protect the wildlife there, to increase knowledge of the histories of the memorials, to assist visitors, and to ensure the cemetery remains part of Halifax's heritage. The group opens the site on Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. Visitors can meet members and receive help with searches on the Sunday site maintenance sessions.
The group welcomes members who are only interested in the historic aspects, family history research etc.., as well as those enjoying outdoor experiences. There are no facilities onsite. Parts of the site are wheelchair accessible.
If the Secretary is not available, please contact Parkwood Crematorium on 01422 372293
