House now farmhouse and 4 dwellings, Nos. 4 and 5 back-to-back. Probably early C17. Much altered early-mid C19 when converted to 8 back-to-backs. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Double-chamfered mullion windows, most with hollow-chamfered mullions, round-headed lights and sunk spandrels. From left to right: bay 1: 2-light fire window (mullion removed), 4-light window (2 mullions removed), C20 gabled porch (to Upper Field House Farmhouse); 4-light now 2-light window to 1st floor. Bay 2: 5-light now 3-light window, C20 door in plain stone surround (to No. 7); 4-light now 2-light window above. Bay 3: 3-light window, 4-panel door in plain stone surround (to No. 6); 4-light window above. Bay 4: 6-light window, blocked arched fire window; on 1st floor a 5-light and a 2-light window, both with square-headed lights and ovolo-section mullions. Added pent porch at right end (to No. 5). Hipped roof with 3 ridge stacks. Rear: mostly C19 3-plain-stone-surround doorways and flat faced mullion windows. Right bay has earlier stonework with traces of quoins and of 4-light double-chamfered window to 1st-floor. Right return: C19 door (to No. 4) and windows.
