Full description:
Marked on OS map as Hullen Edge. Farmhouse, now 3 dwellings, and attached cottage. Farmhouse dated "HD 1677", subdivided early-mid C19; cottage late C18 with C19 extension. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roofs. Farmhouse 2 storeys, 3 bays with through passage, central rear wing and outshut to rear left; 2 + 1 bay cottage projects forward on right. Farmhouse: double chamfered mullion windows. From left: bay 1: a 5-light (now 3-light) window on each floor, to left of doorway with plain stone surround. Bay 2: similar doorway to left of 6-light (now 3-light) window with 5-light (now 3-light) window above. Bay 3: stop-chamfered doorway with deep dated lintel: 3-light window above (mullions removed). Continuous ground floor dripmould with decorative heart stops to bays 1 and 2. External stack to left end, ridge stack on right. Cottage, projecting gable-end on, has blocked plain stone surround doorway in left return and another door in bay added to gable. Rear: central wing: lean-to addition not of interest. Quoins. Gable stack, the walling to its right set back and with double chamfered mullion windows of 4 (now 2) lights on ground floor and 2 (now 1) lights above. Left return of wing has a 4-(now 2) light hollow chamfered mullion window to 1st floor. Outshut on right has a 2 (now 1) light chamfered mullion window and a taller 4-light double chamfered mullion window to right (1 mullion removed, 1 light blocked). Right return, cottage: quoins mark extent of original house which has two 2-light flat faced mullion windows on each floor. Interior of farmhouse: through-passage (in Nos. 3/5) has chamfered quoined shallow-Tudor-arched doorway on left into housebody (No. 2). This has outline of arched fireplace, stop-chamfered spine beams and similar doorway into rear wing (Nos. 3/5) which has large fireplace with (formerly) moulded surround and deep basket-arched lintel, also chamfered spine beams, stop-chamfered joists and wide 1st-floor boards.
