Full description:
House, now 2 dwellings. Dated 1855. Coursed rock-faced stone, Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys with attic. 3 bays, central bay narrower and set back, outer bays gabled. Symmetrical facade: hollow-moulded plinth, ground floor dripmould. Steps up to Tudor-arched part-glazed door in moulded surround with over-lights in spandrels and chamfered surround to whole. Above are 2 shields and a cross-window with hoodmould. Outer bays each have an embattled bay window with a transomed 3-light window to ground floor, a cross-window with hoodmould to 1st floor, and a 1-light window with hoodmould and carved heads to attic. Ashlar coping, central bay embattled, finials to gables. External stacks with diamond-set flues to left and right. Rear: 3-light transomed stair window; right, projecting, bay and left bay have external stacks. Right return: dripmould returns as string; 4-light mullion and transom window on right with 3-light mullion and transom window and window with hoodmould above and embattled oriel to its left; embattled parapet. Left return: 4-light window to ground floor, left; transomed 3- and 2-light windows with hoodmoulds above; embattled parapet. Interior retains many fine features. The entrance hall, 2 front rooms and rear right room (divided from front room by panelled screen): carved and panelled doors with decorative brass plates and elaborate architraves; finely-carved surrounds to fireplaces (some of which are marble); elaborate cornices; fine plaster ceiling to entrance hall. Large stone fireplace in kitchen (rear left). Fine grate with tiled and marbled surround and wooden architrave to master bedroom (front right).
