Row of 3 shops, probably originally back-to-back dwellings. Early C19, with C20 alterations. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings. Stone slate roof with 3 stone stacks. Wharf Street front, 2 storey, 3 windows. No. 46 has a doorway with painted ashlar surround to left of wooden shop front with pilasters supporting a fascia board. Nos. 42 and 44 have shop fronts c1970. Above a 2-light flush mullion window, with 2 plain sashes, to each shop. Shaped gutter brackets on moulded table. Rear: St. Anns Square front, 3 storey, 3 windows. All openings have flush ashlar surrounds, and all windows have flush mullions. Ground floor has 3 doorways, that to No. 42 blocked, each with a 3 light window to the left, those to Nos. 42 and 44 blocked. Above 2 loft doorways to Nos. 42 and 44, both blocked, and each has a blocked 3-light window to left. No. 46 has a 3-light window. Above again No. 42 has a 5-light casement, No. 44 has a 3-light casement and No. 46 has a former 3-light window, with one mullion removed.
