Full description:
House dating from 1618 with early to mid C18 alterations and additions. Hammer dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. L-shaped to south. 3-room through-passage plan, with projecting western cross-wing which has plinth, quoins and double chamfered mullioned stepped window of 4 over 6 lights top gable. Right hand return wall has double chamfered mullioned and transomed window with king mullion of 12 lights. At right angles is hall range which has large double chamfered mullioned window of 5 long lights with lowered sill, with 3-light chamfered mullioned window over to 1st floor to left of 2-light flat faced mullioned window. Doorway to through passage has monolithic jambs; 2-light flat faced mullioned window with 4-light window over. Rear fronts road and has porch with basket arched lintel, finely moulded surround with carved shields set within the spandrels, lintel inscribed "16 IR 18" set within 2 tressures, flat roofed with Gothic coping. 2 bays break forward under separate gables each having tripartite window with central glazed sash to each floor. 3 stacks. Interior of cross-wing has finely reeded floor joists and spine beam. Closing truss of hall has heavily cambered tie beam which may be reused cruck blade.
