Full description:
Row of cottages, mostly formed from house of late C17. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof with hip to return which comprises Nos. 6 and 7. 2 storeys. The main front (Nos. 3, 4 and 5) appears to have been a house of 3 large bays although the original fenestration to No. 5 is lost and the doorways are all C19 with monolithic jambs. No. 3 has double chamfered mullioned window of 3 lights (one mullion removed and placed centrally with the same over. No. 4 has double chamfered mullioned and transomed window of 12 lights with 4-light window over. No. 6 has double chamfered mullioned window of 5 lights with 3-light over. Quoins to angle. Right hand return wall fronts lane and retains chamfered mullioned window of 2 lights to 1st floor. 4 stacks to ridge. No. 7 added on early C19 but formed under hipped roof with No. 6 has altered windows and doorway with monolithic jambs. The original plan of the C17 is obscured by later development and alterations but it would appear to have been a 3 roomed house with hall to the left hand end.
