Full description:
Guide post. Early C18. 2 large upright stone slabs set at an angle to each other joined at the top by an iron strap. Left face reads: 'STONE CHAIR ERECTED 1737 REERECTED 1891 HALIFAX (Hand points to right) BRADFORD' (Hand points to left). Right face reads (Hands points to left) 'DENHOLME GATE. BRIGHOUSE' (Hand points to right). One other stone dated 1737 probably part of the original structure is cemented to the wall of No. 1. Rear of slabs has triangular stone block set between the stone slabs acting as a seat thus giving the name Stone Chair to the monument and in subsequent times to the arae it is sited in chair to the monument and in subsequent time to the area it is sited in.
