Full description:
House and barn attached (at right angles) dated 1743 with added house early C19. Large hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. Half of barn roof asbestos. House 2 storeys. South front has quoins, weathered plinth, chamfered doorway with monolithic jambs; over is 1st floor taking-in door. Double chamfered mullioned window of 2 wide lights with same over. Window with plain surrounds with 2 light chamfered window over. At right angles barn has semi-circular cart entry with finely engraved keystone bearing date and initials W.G., (for William Greenwood) plinth and 2 rectangular chamfered ventilators to mistal at ground floor level, massive quoins to angle and return wall. Set within barn arch is portal with semi-circular arch headed doorways with chamfered surround. That to left to stable (taken out of 2nd cell of house), that to right to mistal. Similar detail to east front of barn. Interior of barn has 2 fine stone pointed arches with pointed heads and chamfered surround to either side of central threshing hearth. To northern end queen strut truss on heavily jowled post on stylobat, southern end formerly similar now replaced by iron truss. Attached and breaking forward from barn is the farmhouse (occupied) to the east, 2 storeys. 2 cells. Porch formed of large stones has low gable with decorative barge boards. To either side broad flat faced mullioned windows with projecting sills of 4 lights with 2-light sash window over. Coped gables with 3 tall dressed stacks.
