Full description:
House of 2 cells early C17 with added eastern cross-wing and rear kitchen wing dating from mid C17. Hall range, dressed rubble; east wing finely dressed stone; stone slate roof. 2 storeys. South front of hall range has double chamfered mullioned windows to ground floor only. 5-light window (2 mullions removed) with chamfered mullioned window over of 4 lights now altered to 2. Original doorway to through passage with straight lintel, composite jambs and stop chamfered surround. Doorway broken through next to 2-light double chamfered fire-window (lacks mullion). Altered housebody window now of 3 lights, over is 3-light chamfered window with replaced flat faced mullions. Obscuring this range of windows is wood and glass conservatory mid C20. Cross-wing breaks forward. Plinth, cyma recta moulded drip course, coped gable with kneelers. Return wall has double chamfered mullioned windows of 2 lights to each floor. Gable has altered window of 3 large lights with 6-light double chamfered mullioned window to 1st floor and one of 2 lights to apex (solid). Gable stack and hall stack to main range. Well dressed stack of 4 coupled flues to cross-wing. Rear kitchen wing has similar detail to cross-wing and double chamfered mullioned window of 5 lights altered to 3. Over is 5-light window. Gable stack of 2 coupled flues with moulded weathered course. Rear door of hall range has chamfered surround. Other double chamfered mullioned windows survive to side and rear of cross-wing most lacking mullions or altered. Interior of housebody has scarf jointed spine beams, evidence of former bressumer. The large arched gable fireplace to rear kitchen has been mutilated in recent years. A once fine building much abused.
