Large group forming 4 residences. Long 3-storey range runs east, west. Attached at right angles, 2 storey hall facing east. Mid to late C18. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. West end of 2 bays of 4-light flat faced mullioned windows (altered to 2 lights) to each floor. Left hand return wall has 5 bays of windows; 4 lights to ground floor, 2 lights to 1st floor and 2 lights to 2nd floor which alone has chamfered mullioned windows. Cellar windows are C17 double chamfered mullioned windows of 3 and 4 lights. Single storey wings break forward and have ramped copings with Gothic window with blind tracery and stack. Top floor of range was former factory. Attached to left hand return wall is Hall. 2 bays of 3-light stepped windows to each floor. Right return wall is gable which is coped. Double chamfered 2-light window (lacking mullion, sashed) to 1st floor. Gable stack. Rear forms courtyard. Hall has tall doorway with architrave and cornice. To left, stepped window to both floors; to right, single sashes to both floors. One other stack to ridge. At right angles, farmhouse; long range which retains 3-bays of 4-light flat faced mullioned windows to 2nd floor with 21 leaded panes. Other sashed windows. To right hand a gabled cross-wing breaks forward and is of 3 bays of sashed windows with projecting sills. Large central taking in door to 2nd floor (blocked); oculus to apex (blocked). Coped gable with kneelers. 4 stacks to this range. It appears that the house is built over an earlier C17 house which retains some double chamfered mullioned windows now to cellars, above these is a weathered plinth and different walling. A stone lying loose is inscribed: 'REBUILT 1587'.
