Full description:
House, probably late C16 with late C20 alterations and attached barn, mid C17. Large dressed stone, stone slate roof, slate roof to barn. 1 and a half storeys. 3-room, through-passage plan. Originally may have been single storey with open hall. Reads: altered service end, window with slight chamfer and scars of mullions, (now door) possibly of 5 lights. Doorway of C19 character with monolithic jambs. 3-light chamfered fire-window (lacks mullions); double chamfered housebody window with deep splay has hoodmould with straight returns, originally of 5 round headed lights (provisional list, and photograph of house) now altered to large window. Over is chamfered window formerly of 3 lights. 3-light parlour window altered to form large light. Right hand return wall has former 3-light window to ground floor and 4-light chamfered window to attic. Coped gable with kneelers, off centre stack. 2 other stacks to ridge. Barn attached to left hand end of single aisled construction and 4 bays has coped gables with single kneelers. Single cart entry to rear. Outshut, C19, to rear of house has altered through-passage doorway with long lintel and monolithic jambs. To either side small chamfered lights (one blocked). A 2-light chamfered window under eaves. Interior: Roof purlins have fine stop chamfer. Single truss (not visible) has very deep tie-beam. Formerly a fine early stone house, much abused with altered windows in recent years.
