Hotel. c1840 built en suite opposite the railway station to which it was formerly connected by a footbridge, evidence of which remains above the entrance door. Ashlar, slate roof. 2 storeys. Follows road aligment presenting a curving facade. Plinth, band. 5 bays of large sash windows (of 12 panes) to each floor. Set between 2nd and 3rd bay is entrance doorway with wooden surround with cornice. Original door entry set between 4th and 5th bay has architrave, cornice and consoles, (blocked). 2 stacks. Rear of 6 bays of sashed windows and 3 storeys. The 3rd, 4th and 5th bays break forward with main feature of large triple window with semi-circular head to centre light, all sashed. 3 rear stacks. Hipped roof.
