Long range formerly stable block to East of Smith House (q.v.) now forming 2 dwellings and garage. Mid C18 with early C20 alterations. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. Faces west. Reads from left. 2-storey cottage of 2 bays retains original late C18 thin flat faced mullioned windows of 4 lights with 3 lights over to each bay. Inserted in middle is large modern french window with 3-light mullioned window in keeping over. Gable stack. Long single storey stable range has doorway with monolithic jambs, 3 cross-windows with 2 gabled attic dormers in roof. Cart entry has segmental arch which rises into large gabled dormer in which is set a stepped light of 2/4 recessed flat faced mullions with square reveals. Apex has square block surmounted by ball finial in which is set decorative wrought iron and brass weather vane. To right of cart entry is another similar though smaller set in wall. Quoins to the angles. Return wall fronts lane and is formed of 2 storey gabled house (Smith House Lodge) which has early C20 detailing which retains flat faced mullioned windows mainly of 3 lights to each floor. Gable has false timber-framing and oversailing eaves with plain barge boards. Listed for group value.
