Police Station. 1889. Early Renaissance style. Ashlar with slate ridge roofs. 2 and a half storey, ground floor windows square headed sashes with projecting moulded hoods, first floor windows semi-circular headed sashes within flat topped openings, stone parapet above crowned with ball finials. Main facade facing Blackwall, 11 bays, with double bays at end. 9 central bays project. Two, 2 storey splayed bay windows decorated with pilasters and topped with recessed gables containing circular windows. Central square projection, with round headed doorway with moulded hood supporting carved Royal coat of arms. 3 light transome and mullion windows above, attic has 2 small sashes under semi-circular gable. Above and behind tower, decorated with pilasters and twin arched openings crowned with an octagonal cupola with stone roof. Harrison Street facade, 20 bays with similar fenestration, double bays project at either end, 2 smaller projecting bays, one containing entrance, both topped with attic windows in gables. Buttress at north end has foundation plaque set in wall. Carlton Street facade 3 bays with projecting central porch, with semi-circular arched opening, small attic windows in semi-circular gable.
