Full description:
1864, by J Hogg. Large stone building in free Northern Renaissance style. Rectangular with 2 main storeys and another to large corner pavilions and in steep slated roof. Order of pilasters to each storey. Elaborate entrance tower to centre of south-east front rising to clock stage with cupola and weather vane. Wide central projection to south west with single storeyed bow and big elaborate gable. Other bows, very elaborate dormers with finials and cresting to roof. Lower buildings to north west not included. Included for its overall effect.
