Nos. 1 to 22 (consec) form part of Akroyden, a model village begun by Col Akroyd in about 1851 to the designs of Sir G G Scott but never completed. Mid C19. Row of eight 2-storeyed Gothic houses with low basement. Stone with eaves and gables to slated roof. Arched doorways. 4-light mullioned and transomed windows to ground storey with 2 and 3-light openings, above sharing gable (some mullions removed). End houses have wider gable.
