House, mid C17 with added barn, altered mid C19. Now used for agricultural purposes. Large dressed stone, stone slate roof; 2 storeys, 3-room plan. Ground floor has double chamfered mullioned windows. 1st floor has chamfered mullioned 5-light window with same over; 6-light window with same over. Original doorway now forms larger cart entry. Retains chamfered composite jambs to the left hand side only. Over is 2-light window. Two 2-light windows with same over. All windows lack some mullions. No break in stonework where barn begins. Has unusual cart entry with composite jambs and heavy lintel carried on shouldered stones similar to kneelers. Chamfered surround. It is possible this is C17. Next to it is C19 segmental arched cart entry with tall arch headed ventilators over. Right hand return wall has mistal doorway with chamfered surround and pointed arched ventilators to gable. Rear has one bay of flat faced mullioned windows of 5 lights on both floors and a 3-light double chamfered mullioned window. 3 arched lights to 1st floor with sunken spandrels. Single storey outshut has long window with flat faced mullioned formerly of 14 lights. Single stack to corner. This outshut was probably connected with textile manufacture. 2 stacks to gable of house. C. F. Stell, p.122.
