Full description:
House. Dated 1701. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys with single-cell outshut to rear. 3-room plan. Quoins. Former 4-light double chamfered mullioned window broken through to form doorway. Doorway with composite jambs with stop chamfered surround which continues up to form decorated lintel with double lobed head mirrored by double arches to the soffit. In the spandrels and in centre of lintel is engraved stonework which reads: "R H, T H, 1 7 0 1" 6-light double chamfered mullioned window lacks 3 mullions. Over, is small 2-light window set just below the eaves. 3rd cell has 2-light flat faced mullioned window with slightly projecting sill to each floor. Left hand return wall has 6-light chamfered mullioned window with 4-light window over. Right hand return wall has single sash window with same over and blocked arch-headed light with sunken spandrels. Rear has former 2-light chamfered windows either side of outshut. North gable has kneelers but no copings. South gable has stack. One other stack to left of door entry. Interior not inspected. C. F. Stell, p.135,299.
