This photograph probably dates from the late 1960s or early 1970s, when J and S Taylor Ltd (woollen cloth manufacturers) owned the mill. This company was started in 1861 by brothers Samuel and Joseph Taylor. It became a limited company in 1882 and continued to operate from Bowers Mill until 1991 when it moved to Corporation Mill, Sowerby Bridge.
