John Edward Wainhouse, as well as being responsible for Wainhouse Tower, also built housing at Wainhouse Terrace, between the Rochdale and Burnley Roads, Halifax. He created a terrace of back-to-back houses with underdwellings, linked by a 200ft (61 m) balcony with colonnade. The houses were demolished for redevelopment in 1972, but the gallery is still standing in 2003.
