Crow Wood Park is at Pye Nest, between King Cross and Sowerby Bridge. Crow Wood Mansion was used as a hospital during the First World War. In the 1920s it was demolished to make way for tennis courts, bowling green and leisure gardens. The memorial gateway was opened in November 1929.
