This photograph shows St Mary's Church, Luddendenfoot, which once stood at the entrance to the Luddenden valley, overlooking the village of Luddendenfoot. The Church was built in 1873 at a cost of £7, 000 which was paid by the Rawson family of Sowerby. It closed in 1977 and its iconic 126 ft spire was demolished in 1980, having been declared structurally unsound.
