"Some Lines wrote by The Reverend Mr. Grimshaw, Who departed this Life the 7th of April 1763, which he wrote some Time ago, and carried them with him in his Pocket Book, where they were found after his Decease." William Grimshaw (1708-1763) was curate of Todmorden (1731-1742) and perpetual curate of Haworth after 1746. Friend of John Wesley and itinerant preacher William Darney, he was an avid proselytiser for Methodism.
