Transcription by Yorkshire Archaeological Society of c.1537 appeal to King Henry VIII via the Royal Appeal Court, the Star Chamber. Describes a riotous break-in by relatives and servants of Sir Richard Tempest into Halifax Vicarage, and altercations with Robert Haldesworth, clerk and vicar of the Parish of Halifax. Includes a long list of items stolen from the vicarage: gold, silver, goods and chattels, land deeds, letters patent, bills and many items of clothing.
