Lithograph of the Halifax Baths which were built in fashionable red brick about 1793 by plumber Thomas Rawlinson. Sited at Lilly Lane/Waterside near the Hebble Brook and supplied by the springs of Coldwell Ing and Greece Field (the site of the present railway station). As well as water and sulphur baths, the site included gardens and bowling green. Not a public baths for anyone and everyone, this was a members' establishment, and in their heyday were said to have been the most extensive suite of baths in Yorkshire. Closed by 1863 after the railway and station were built. The gardens disappeared when Albion Mills were developed over them.
