View of Halifax from the south east, possible from Stoney Royd or Siddal. The view seems to be that of the early 18th century town, only a few signs of mills and chimneys, at an early stage of industrialisation. The Parish Church is to the right of the picture.
Very few details on the print - just the title and "Kirkwood Sculp." (Kirkwood Sculpsit - Kirkwood he engraved it), Kirkwood being the engraver of the printing plate. No details of the original artist.
