The Slode at Wainstalls is a typical farmhouse built in the mid-17th century. The date over the door is 1662, but doubt remains over the building's actual date, it is believed to be earlier. The initials over the door are ISF and stand for Jacob and Sarah Farrar who were the occupants around this time.
