The Ladstone Rock stands on top of Norland Moor. A lot has been speculated about the rock. It has been said that the rock may be used as a sacrificial point, or that witches were thrown from the rock in the middle ages. This speculation may derive from the name lladd, which is the Celtic word for kill, or cut, so a Ladstone is a kill stone.
