1. IE6 auto resize

  • This page provides specific details about an issue with Internet Explorer 6.

Question: Why do the zoomed images look little or no bigger than the smaller sized images when using Internet Explorer 6?

Answer: IE6 has a feature called "Automatic image resizing" that resizes images that are larger than the browser window enabling them to fit on screen. This feature is enabled by default and needs to be turned off in order to properly use the zoom feature on our website.

Solution: To turn this feature off, launch Internet Explorer 6. At the top menu bar go to "tools" then "Internet options" (see figure 1a below).

Select the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to the "Multimedia" section (see figure 1b below) and uncheck the box next to "Enable Automatic Image Resizing".

Finally, select "ok" at the bottom of the dialogue box and reload the web page you are on (press F5" or use the refresh button, see figure 1c below).
