The Ritz opened as a cinema on 15th March 1937, and was the first of its kind in Brighouse.
The cinema closed in 1963 and was re-opened in 1965 as a bingo and show hall by the Brighouse Casino and Theatre club.
The venue is now an entertainment hall presenting ballroom dancing, cabaret, and live music.
In 1996 the Ritz unveiled it 1937 Wurlitzer Organ. Which had been at the Trinity Arts Centre Pudsey.
