Author: John Horner

Print "drawn on stone" by John Horner (1784-1867), Halifax-born 'Drawing Master and Portrait Painter', and published by N. Whitley, Halifax, 1822. Printed with the help of London master lithographer Charles Hullmandel, as were a lot of Horner's prints.

The view shows Halifax from the south east with the Parish Church to the right of the picture.

Horner later produced a series of drawings of pre-industrialised Halifax, published as lithographs in 'Buildings in the Town and Parish of Halifax' by Corn Market bookseller Roberts Leyland in 1835.
