There is also a footbridge here next to the ford, which was built in the early 1900s. Nathan Robinson, a pioneer of Primitive Methodism in Brighouse, organised early meetings at his residence in Thornhill Briggs in the early 1800s.
The crossing today remains very much the same as in the picture. The road leads to Clifton past the rear entrance to Wellholme Park.
