In the Green Room Bar

The Temperance Seven were formed in the mid fifties by a group of enthusiastic students at the Royal College of Art in London. Although the line-up may have changed over the years the band still maintains that inimical style of early jazz which will always be associated with The Temperance Seven.

Among many successes the band have achieved was the recording of "You're Driving Me Crazy" which went to number one in the hit parade in 1961. This proved to be a double success for George Martin as it was his first number one as a record producer. Mr. Martin, sadly no longer with us, went on to even bigger heights as no doubt the reader will know. The band's next single release "Pasadena" reached number four in the charts.

Other notable achievements were recording "Mach 2 march" at twice the speed of sound aboard Concorde's maiden flight to Bahrain in the mid seventies and playing at the press reception in Washington for Concorde's maiden flight to the USA.

Since then the band have played on most continents throughout the world and continue to play festival all over Europe.

The band's favourite venues are however the theatres of Britain where they can best create the nostalgia of a bygone era with their magical music and madness.
