Poet; movie star; rock star; TV & Radio presenter; comedian; social and cultural commentator.
Dr John Cooper Clarke shot to prominence in the 1970s as the original 'people's poet', performing with The Sex Pistols, The Fall, Joy Division, The Buzzcocks, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Elvis Costello and New Order.
Since then his career has spanned cultures, audiences, art forms and continents and is just as visible on today's pop culture. Aside from his trademark look continuing to resonate with fashionistas, his poetry is studied on the national curriculum and his has collaborated on 2 global number 1 albums from the Arctic Monkeys and Plan B.
His latest show is a mix of classic verse, extraordinary new material, ponderings on modern life, honest gags, riffs and chat - a chance to witness a living legend at the top of his game!
