Frequently asked questions

Q What is my initial payment for on my direct debit membership?
A

This one off initial payment includes your joining fee currently £10, plus current month’s gym membership fees. If you join after the 10th of the month it also includes your next month’s membership fee. This is because of direct debit scheme deadlines.

Q When will my direct debit be taken from my bank?
A

It will be taken on or just after the 1st of each month. Unfortunately we are unable to offer a different payment date at this time.

Q I need to change my bank details for my direct debit?
A

Please contact our lifestyles team on: 01422 393270, or call into one of our swimming pools / fitness centres to complete a new direct debit mandate.

Q What happens if I cancel my direct debit?
A

If you choose to cancel before the end of your committed period you will be invoiced for the balance. If you have joined up for a 12 month committed membership you must pay your initial payment plus 11 monthly direct debits. After your committed period has finished, your membership will continue to run on a month by month basis until cancelled.

Q How do I cancel my membership / refunds
A

If you have joined online, you can cancel your membership within the first 15 days from the purchase date, providing you have not entered or used our sites.

After this period, if you have joined up for a 12 month committed membership you cannot cancel your membership until the full committed period has run out (Please refer to your terms and conditions for exclusions to this rule). To cancel, email: lifestyles-admin@calderdale.gov.uk with your name, membership ID, address and date of birth.
