Financial assistance for post-16 education

Student in a library

Calderdale Council, in partnership with Calderdale College, has produced this guidance for students and parents living in Calderdale. The guidance tells you about financial help that students attending a school sixth form or attending a college can get.

The 16-19 Bursary and Post-16 Transport Provision is to help students aged 16+. They are for those that may need financial support to access or complete further studies.

It must be remembered that this information is only to give you a general guide to procedures for obtaining support. If after reading it, you would like to apply, then you must follow the instructions as outlined.

Every attempt has been made to ensure that the information provided is correct. Student support is subject to constant change, but we do our best to update you with changes that take place. The Council reserves the right to review its awards and transport policies as circumstances require.

The Council's school Access team and Calderdale College's Student Services are happy to answer any queries you have. These will be treated with the strictest confidence.
