Calderdale Ramblers: In Search of Elves

Starting with a steady, but not very steep, uphill walk on a concrete road through pleasant woodlands, we emerge onto an open hillside with wide ranging views of the Calder Valley, before taking an undulating farm track down into Mytholmroyd.

Calderdale Heritage Walks: Dobroyd Castle

This afternoon walk goes to, around and inside the striking ‘Brass Castle’, by kind permission of the owners. It was built above Todmorden by John Fielden in 1869. It includes the house, walled garden and stable block with details of their history and the family.
