Work to improve the resilience of Mytholmroyd Library began on Monday 29th January 2018. Although primarily to the rangers office above, it was necessary to close the library for these works to take place. The closure was scheduled to last four weeks, but will now be completed and the library reopened on Monday 5th March.
The works taking place will improve the flood resilience of the library and enable it to be better used as a flood hub, if necessary. Work is taking place to strengthen the upper floor of the building and upgrade IT connectivity during flood hub situations.
During the closure, library stock and PCs will be protected, but remain on site. Some work will continue for a further four weeks after it reopens, which could cause some noise disruption for customers.
