In Calderdale we are always looking for volunteers to help communities. Please take a look at the roles we have available at the moment and don’t forget our Regular Opportunities page too. If none of these opportunities appeal to you but you are still keen on volunteering please contact Sector Support Calderdale . They manage the Volunteer Centre in Calderdale and provide details of volunteering opportunities with local organisations and groups.

Volunteer Minibus Driver

We are looking for a volunteer minibus driver to work alongside minibus escorts to make sure young people have a safe and enjoyable journey to the Support Gateway Youth Club in Brighouse. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the daily lives of young people with learning disabilities.

Calderdale Breastfeeding Peer Support Network

We would like mums from all backgrounds to attend our training course and to volunteer about 2-3 hours each week as a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. You will work alongside midwives and health visitors, in children’s centres, in the hospital and Baby Café over the phone and visiting mums at home.

Libraries IT Volunteer

Express your interest

Are you friendly, approachable and good with computers? We’re looking for volunteers to support library users broaden their horizons using IT. We are particularly keen to hear from people who may be interested in undertaking this role in our Brighouse, Elland and Rastrick libraries.

Family Group Conference Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer to work alongside a Family Group Conference facilitator in preparing families for Family Group Conferences. You will undertake direct work with children and young people to gain an understanding or their thoughts, wishes and feelings for the conference.

 

Volunteer Trainee Machine Operator (ISCAL)

Are you looking for experience in a factory environment? ISCAL is part of Calderdale Council and provides a supportive work environment for volunteers who have a disability or may need a bit of extra support to enter or return to work.

Todmorden Town Hall Volunteers

Would you like to encourage people to be proud of their local heritage?  Todmorden Town Hall volunteers deliver guided tours and research the stories of the Grade 1 listed building.  Volunteers meet fortnightly to share findings and deliver monthly taster tours.
