This service is for pests considered to be a risk to public health or food safety. This includes rats, house mice, bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas and wasps.
A service can be provided to control pests that become a nuisance in houses. This can be things such as insects (beetles, flies, etc), mammals or birds.
Advice can be given on a wide range of pest control matters and we also provide an insect identification service.
All Council Pest Control staff are qualified to Royal Society for the Promotion of Health standards.
Note: Pesticides can only be applied when the presence of pests has been proven.
Where multiple visits are required:
- First visit, the Pest Control Officer will assess / survey the premises and decide where to put the poison bait boxes.
- Second visit, the Pest Control Officer will check that the poison bait is being taken.
- Third visit, the Pest Control Officer will check the treatment has been completed satisfactorily and remove poison bait boxes.

There is a call out charge of £33.21, included in the cost. You will be refunded the difference if no treatment is found to be necessary.
