Calderdale’s CSP was set up as statutory body under Sections 5-7 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. It embodies the principles of safer, stronger and resilient communities where "Everyone Different Everyone Matters" with a vision of "Calderdale. A Great Place to be Safe".
It consists of representatives from:
- West Yorkshire police ;
- Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council;
- Pennine Housing 2000 ;
- Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group ;
- West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service ;
- West Yorkshire Community Rehabilitation Company ;
- National Probation Service ;
- Hospital Trust;
- North Bank Forum: Sector Support Calderdale .
All members are committed to delivering the shared vision of, "Everyone in Calderdale feeling safe and protected at all times".
The CSP produces an annual Strategic Assessment which then informs our Community Safety Plan. This is delivered by working jointly in neighbourhoods with local people on agreed plans, which have clear actions and objectives. This relates to both local neighbourhood and strategic priorities. Through regular engagement with residents and local groups, the CSP will evidence what they are doing. Together, they will assess how well they are doing in the areas that communities say matter to them.
Local businesses and residents consistently tell us that feeling safe is one of the most important aspects of local life. The CSP is a partnership between the council and various other services. This then works together to identify the key areas of concern within our communities. Our Community Safety Partnership summary [PDF 70KB] document, tells you what we are doing. This includes the key areas which we have identified in our Strategic Assessment this year.
