Fees

The current fees for certificates, registration and ceremonies:

Ceremonies

Notice of marriage or civil partnership

  • A notice of marriage or civil partnerships: £35 per person.

To consider a divorce granted outside of the British Isles

  • Paperwork that can be cleared by the local Register Office: £50 per person.
  • Paperwork that has to be referred to the General Register Office: £75 per person.

Bespoke Wedding Package

This includes a wedding in the Calderdale Register Office followed by a ceremony later at an alternative venue

Note: These fees include £4 for a marriage or partnership certificate where applicable.

For all ceremonies at Spring Hall or in approved premises there is a £50 deposit. This is payable at the time of booking and cannot be refunded.

The balance is to be paid no later than one month before the date of the ceremony.

For ceremonies at Calderdale Register Office the full fee is payable at the time of booking.

Searches in indexes

  • General search (search in the indexes by the applicant personally for not more than six successive hours): £18.

An appointment must be made to carry out a search. This is subject to staff being available. Note: These fees are reviewed by the Council yearly.

To consider a correction or change to Birth and Death Registrations

  • Corrections that can be authorised by the local Register Office: £75.
  • Corrections that must be referred to the General Register Office: £90.
  • Application to change a child’s forename(s), within 12 months of the date of birth: £40.
