Active Calderdale Bike Library

The Bike Library is now open for donations and loans on the first Saturday of every month 10-1pm at Halifax Fire Station, Spring Edge W, Halifax HX1 3JF.


Bikeability Cycling Training is for young people 9-14 years old. It covers a range of skills controlling and mastering your bike to dealing with difficult traffic situations

Cycle Calderdale

For road routes, mountain bike routes, family cycle routes and hill climbs in the area, plus information on waymarked cycle routes including the National Cycle Network, Hebble Trail, West Yorkshire Route and Pennine Bridleway.

The visibility of cyclists riding in poor light conditions or at night is a big factor in this. By fitting your bike with a white front light and a rear red light you have more chance of being seen by other road users.

Learn to ride

A one day, Learn to Ride cycling course for 5 - 9 year olds. Children will learn the basics of cycling in a fun and safe environment to increase their confidence and ability to control their bike

We offer a one to one coaching sessions for anybody that cannot find a cycle training course that fits their needs.

Pedal Free, balance bike

Pedal Free is a one hour session designed to accelerate the confidence and coordination of young children through balance related activities on a balance bike.
