UK Parliamentary General Election

A General Election is to be held on Thursday 8th June 2017.

 

You need to be on the electoral register to be able to vote.

It is too late to register to vote in the General Election on 8th June 2017. You can still register for future elections.

Register to vote

If you are already registered to vote, you do not need to submit another application. You will get a Poll Card around the middle of May, through the post.

If you are NOT registered to vote, visit: Register to vote . Here you can submit an online application to be added to the register.

Note: The Deadline to register to vote is 12am (midnight), on Monday 22nd May.


Postal voting and Proxy voting

If you cannot get to a polling station on election day, you can apply for a postal or proxy vote.

Note: To be able to vote in the coming election, your form must be received by one of these deadlines:

  • for Postal voting, by 5pm on Tuesday 23rd May.
  • for Proxy voting, by 5pm on Wednesday 31st May.
  • changing from postal voting to proxy voting, by 5pm on Tuesday 23rd May.

Election day

The Poll will open at 7am and close at 10pm on Thursday 8th June 2017 (the vote counting will immediately follow this).

The election results will be published following the conclusion of the count.
