What happens next
The Council will consult with the Police and the Council's Environmental Health Department in respect of your application together with the Council's Highways Department.
You will be advised if the Council's Highways Department require any modifications to the proposed layout of your pavement cafe licence application before it can be approved.
If the Council's Highways Department approve your application then you will be sent notices to display on your premises which advertise that you have applied for a premises licence.
These notices must be displayed on on your premises for 28 days.
Your licence will be granted after the 28 day period and within two months of your application being received, providing that there have been no objections to your licence application.
If there are objections to your licence application from members of the public, interested groups or local businesses then your application for a pavement cafe licence will be considered at a hearing of the Council's Licensing and Regulatory Committee.
The Licensing Unit will advise you, after consultation with the Council's Highways Department whether your application is approved.
