Halifax's Business Improvement District (Halifax BID)

Business Improvement Districts are business led partnerships which are created through a ballot process to deliver additional services to local businesses. It can be a powerful tool for directly involving local businesses in activities. This allows the business community and Local Authorities to work together to improve the local trading environment.

Businesses of Halifax town centre voted 'yes' to a BID in Halifax, in a ballot held October 2016.

The Council have been appointed as the collecting agent for the BID levy on behalf of the BID company. You will receive an annual bill in March each year payable in one amount on the 1st April, for the additional services. This is in addition to your normal Business Rate Bill sent by the Council each year. The BID bill will be:

1.75% of the 2010 rateable value of business premises on properties valued over £6K.

Online: With a Debit or Credit card, pay online at:  Halifax BID Levy payments (24 hours per day).
Note: A surcharge will be made for Credit card payments. There is no surcharge for Debit card payments.

By Post: Make cheques payable to Calderdale MBC and send to Halifax BID Limited, P 0 Box 51, Halifax. HX1 1TP.
Note: Write your BID account reference number and property address on the back of the cheque.
